Carroll     The Spirit of the Season is upon us!  Join us for an evening of exciting holiday music this Thursday and Friday at 7:00 pm in the BHS Auditorium.  The Vocal Music Association will present a wide variety of holiday music featuring the award-winning choirs of Burbank High School and Special Guest Performers from the BHS Band Program.  Student tickets are $10 at the door.  Come bring a friend Thursday or Friday and get yourself in the holiday mood!!
Minasyan   HOPE - Twas the last week of Holiday Drive and all through the town, there were gifts to be given and cans to be found!  The HOPEsters all scrambled to get enough stuff.  "The drive ends on Friday--we don't have enough!"
Now they are begging: please donate some gifts!   Like CDs or toys, or food if you wish!  It is a great cause--you will not regret it.  You'll help 50 families; they will not forget it!  So please bring in food or some gifts to our drive-- Some time before Friday so HOPE club can thrive!!
Zadoorian   Potpourri Club- We are going to have our first meeting Wednesday, December 12th at lunch in Mrs. Zadoorian’s class, room 1210.  We would love to see new members and of course our great members from last year.
Adams  CLUB CLIMATE CRISIS wants to invite you to TEEN GREEN being held at the LA Convention Center on Sat. Dec. 13th.  Learn how to make your carbon footprint smaller, improve your life, and save you some green!  See you there!!

Thomson     Christian Club – We’ll be having our Christmas party this Wednesday, the 10th, at lunch in Mr. Thomson’s room 1162.  Everyone is welcome.  Merry Christmas!
Thomson       Key Club – Hey Key clubbers!  Pick up your T-shirts on Thursday’s meeting in the auditorium during lunch!  Also, Fall Rally at Magic Mountain is this Saturday!  You can pay $27 at the door and $15 for spirit supplies.  Please be here by 8am.  Hope to see you there!
Benjelloun     Bonjour French Clubbers – Snack sale money was due on Friday, Dec. 5.  If you have not paid, then you are indebted.  Also, go in Monsieur Benjelloun’s class to check if your name is on his board.  This means that the winter carnival you will have to attend the meeting on Monday, Dec. 15th.
Gallimore   Attention all BHS Gay/Straight Alliance members - the contributions to the HOPE Drive are due to Mr. Gallimore's room by this Thursday.  If you still need to sign up - see Mr. Gallimore in Room 1-215 for more information.  Thank you!

English    Animal Rights Foundation – is having its annual Holiday Drive!  Please bring in any of the following items:  Dog & Cat food.  New or used towels or blankets Milk re-placer for kittens or puppies – No toys please.  You can leave them in boxes located in various teachers rooms marked for Animal Rights Foundation.  All donations will be given to the Burbank Animal Shelter. 
Osgood     ASL Club – We have an ASL Club meeting today @ lunch in Mrs. Osgood’s room.  Don’t forget our dinner & movie night is tomorrow Thursday Dec. 11.  For more info stop by Mrs. Osgood’s room for a flyer and to sign up!
Stanley      ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS... AN iPOD?!? - The IMA is once again raffling off one of the latest and coolest 8GB iPod Nano's, just in time for the holidays!  See any IMA student to buy your tickets now for the low, low price of only $1 each.  The drawing will be held at the IMA Holiday Concert on Thursday, Dec. 18, at 7pm in the auditorium.  Come hear our orchestras and bands play all of your holiday favorites!  Plus a special appearance by N'SYNC, singing the famous "Hallelujah Chorus."  Tickets are $8 at the door, but only $5 pre-sale, so see any IMA member to buy yours right away!  Happy Holidays from IMA!

Drabecki      Softball- Anyone interested in trying out for the 2009 softball team, please come to Tryouts, Wednesday Dec. 10th at McCambridge Field #2. The park is located down Third Street. Tryouts start at 3:30, so please arrive at 3:15 to sign up. Please bring a softball glove, and wear the proper workout clothes.
Salcedo  ROP - If you are interested in taking an ROP class for the Spring Semester, come to the Career Center and sign up today!  We have Retail Marketing, Animal Care, Film and Video and more!
Wygle     "MY SCHOOL IS COOL" began Sept. 15th!  All Burbank Town Center stores and restaurants RECEIPTS including all stores & restaurants from Burbank Blvd along San Fernando are being collected by BHS to win the 1st prize of $8000 for our school!  SO TURN IN YOUR RECEIPTS at the Front desk or your 4th period class!"

All applications and signed forms are due to your Counselor by Tuesday DECEMBER 9th so they may be submitted to the district office. College Application forms must be accompanied by a copy of the course description from the college!

Zimmerman  Banned Books - The following students won gift certificates to the Corner Bakery for their outstanding posters on censorship.  Congratuations to Diane Han, Melinda Ebrahimi, and Gina Park.  The posters will be displayed in the library through the end of the semester.
Wygle    If you CHRISTMAS SHOPPED the weekend away!... Remember!! Dash those shopping receipts to your 4th period class OR the box at the Front Desk!! O'er the other schools we'll go, wisking the prize money away!!

Minasyan  WALK INTO THE COMMUNITY:  Tonight,  members from HOPE, CSF, Key Club, and ASB will be asking the residents of our neighborhood to donate cans to the HOPE Holiday drive.  We will be meeting in the cafeteria area at 6 pm, and we will be done by 8:30pm.  We ask all students--even if you are not in any of these clubs-- to come help us walk through the community and collect cans. It is a perfect opportunity to do something fun with friends, get into the holiday spirit, earn service hours, and help out impoverished families in Burbank.  If you have questions, stop by 1316 or 1318.  HOPE to see you there!

Stanley        BAND WINS 2nd PLACE!! Congratulations to the Burbank HS Bulldog Marching Band for a great job at the La Palma Days Parade last weekend.  The Band won 2nd place in their division and the Color Guard got 3rd.  Way to represent Burbank HS - keep it up!

Admin     Basketball Scorekeeper Training – Need Money?  Want to earn some extra cash for the holidays?  Earn up to $8.00 per game by scorekeeping basketball.  New scorekeepers must attend four classroom sessions, pass a test, and keep score for at least two practice games.  Returning scorekeepers must attend one of the last 2 classroom sessions (14th or 19th )  and pass the test on Nov. 21.  Classroom sessions are scheduled for Nov. 12, 14, 19, and 21 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.  At Olive Recreation Center 111 West Olive Ave.  If you have any questions regarding the training, please call the Sports Office at 238-5385.

Stanley     BAND WINS 2nd PLACE!:  Congratulations to the members of the Burbank HS "Bulldog" Marching Band and Color Guard for their outstanding performance last weekend at the San Dimas Western Days Parade.  Both groups won 2nd place in their division.  Way to go!

Minasyan  HOPE - The warm and fuzzy drive is still going on, but we are also having a special food drive.  The Burbank Temporary aide center is having food shortage and we are trying to help them out.  They need peanut butter, jelly, cereal, mac and cheese, meat products, tuna and other canned goods. Please bring items to either room 1316 or 1318. 

Grimshaw   Trip to Japan – A reminder for all those interested in applying for the trip to Japan this summer – there is an informational meeting on Thursday, Oct. 2, at the Central Library on the corner of Glenoaks and Olive, beginning at 7:00.  If you or your parents have any questions regarding the trip, please attend this meeting.

Sherwood            Close-up – There is very little space left for the Presidential Inauguration in Jan. 2009.  There is one extra hotel added but the cost is $170.00 per person more.  Deadline with the increase in Sept. 5th @ 4:00 pm EST to have initial deposit of $500.00.  Full payment due by Sept. 30.  See Mr. Sherwood in room 1207 ASAP.

Drabecki  Softball Tryouts – Anyone who is interested in playing softball for the 2009 season, there will be tryouts on Wed. Sept. 3 at 3:30, at Mc Cambridge Field #2.  Please bring a softball glove, cleats and be wearing athletic clothes to tryout in.  Again, please bring a glove.

Movsessian Boys Soccer – Attention soccer fans, BHS boys soccer will be having tryouts on Tuesday Sept. 2 and Wed. Sept. 3 at 3:30 on the small grass field, bring your soccer ball, shoes, shin guards and skills.

Salcedo   ROP CLASSES - if you are interested in registering for a ROP class and haven't done it yet, come to the Career Center!  We still have lots of room in Computers for College, Careers In Education and Law Enforcement.  Sign up today!

Admin     Reminder – Breakfast and nutrition will not be served this year.  Please bring a snack from home.

Valadez        STUDENT ID CARDS.  Students must have their school identification card with them at all times while on campus and at school events, and must show it to school personnel when requested.  Students without their ID card will be issued two hours detention.  If you lose your ID card you may purchase a replacement in the Activities & Athletics Office, room 1106.

Valadez  LUNCH PASSES are for juniors and seniors.  They are a privilege and will be issued only to students with no F's or U's on their report card, no unexcused absences, and no tardies.  Grades and attendance will be checked with every 5-week report card.  A parent must come to the Discipline Office in person to sign the application for a lunch pass.  No passes are granted by phone.  Student must show Lunch Pass when leaving for lunch and when returning. If you don't have it with you, you may not leave for lunch.  Off campus stickers do not qualify as lunch passes.
